Chhindwara district was created on November 1, 1956. It is located in the southwestern region of the Satpura Range of mountains. It extends from 21.28 to 22.49 degrees north (longitude) and 78.40 to 79.24 degrees east (latitude) and covers an area of ​​11,815 square kilometers. The district is bordered by the plains of Nagpur district (in the state of Maharashtra) to the south, Hoshangabad and Narsinghpur districts to the north, Pandhurna district to the west, and Seoni district to the east.
Chhindwara is a haven for nature lovers, with picturesque waterfalls, scenic viewpoints, and abundant flora and fauna. The city also boasts vibrant cultural events, a well-developed healthcare system, and a pleasant climate throughout the year. Chhindwara is known as the “Corn City” of India.

Chhindwara is a major city in India and a Municipal Corporation in the Chhindwara district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The city is the administrative headquarters of Chhindwara District. Chhindwara is reachable by rail or road from adjacent cities Betul, Jabalpur and Nagpur. The nearest airports are in Nagpur, although there is a small airport located in the district which is not serviceable for passenger planes.
